Ron Paul had been in fast draw since 1978. He was introduced to the sport by a fellow police officer, which also introduced him to western shows. Another one of his passions. He has done most of the contests, east of the Mississippi. And in 1991, went to the World Championship in Florence, AZ. Ron has held over thirty fastest shot records, and/or series records. He has also held the title of North coast “Fastest Gun Alive” in 2000, 2001, and 2002. Ron also was the “Double Gun Champion” in 1999, and 2000. Ron has won to many other awards over his years in fast draw, to numerous to mention.
Ron enjoyed most everything about the sport of fast draw, but hated when he missed the target. But when he hit, look out. His advice to new shooters was shoot straight-then shoot fast. He liked the competition, and really enjoyed himself at the contest.
Ron’s inspirations in the sport of fast draw have been, Harry Ballengee, Dale Searls, Duke Bonnett, and many others. So you can see he looked up to the best this sport has to offer.
