The world of Fast Draw has lost another icon as Troy Shaddix has gone to Cowboy Heaven to meet his friends Hondo Bratton, Robert Coffey and others. Troy passed away Saturday October 29 when his heart just gave up after battling heart problems and diabetes for the past 3 years. He will be remembered for his contribution to the OFDA when he , Sandee and Lucky Gaines put out the first Bulletin with photos, interviews and helped bring the orginization out of a slump in 1975. They belonged to the Sundowners Fast Draw Club in the Akron, Ohio area. Later they moved to Alabama and created a club there and held contests. In 2008 he founded the American Fast Draw Association using the 1500 penalty which he felt was the equalizer for speed and accuracy. His love for Fast Draw kept him going to the end and he will be surely be missed.
