Annie Oakley Days 2007
Date: Tuesday, September 18 @ 23:55:45 EDT
Topic: OFDA Contests

The Shawnee Bandits put out the word… there was going to be a gunfight on July 28 – 29, 2007 in Greenville Ohio. Forty five Ohio Fast Draw Association gunfighters from the North, South and West divisions answered the call to the OFDA sanctioned Annie Oakley Days Fast Draw Championship.

Celebrating its 27th year this showdown has a reputation for drawing the best of the veteran, current and future OFDA champions to historic Greenville year after year for a reality check of their gunfighting skills. 2007 was no exception. Overseeing the event was our Chairman Dale Searls and former Chairman Carol Bonnett, Duke Bonnett and Harry Ballengee. Scott Reed of the Shawnee Bandits ran the line and a rotating group of dedicated members handled the scoring. To make things interesting the shooting events were drawn at random.

Also in attendance was a very special friend of Fast Draw, Jaime Jaramillo from Chicago, Illinois. Jaime is not a shooter but his passion for the sport is obvious to all who have the pleasure of knowing him. A design engineer by trade he has supported the OFDA and the sport of Fast Draw for over 20 years repairing Fast Draw timers. This year he chose the Annie Oakley Days shootout to publicly unveil a Fast Draw timer that he designed. On Sunday the OFDA put them to the test. Feedback was positive and the timers were well received. Thank you for all you do for us Jaime!
